Negociants have appeared at Taste of Auckland every year since the first festival in 2009. We will be joined by the birthplace of New Zealand wine this year. Mission Estate was established by Missionaries in Hawke’s Bay in 1851 and their first record of a commercial sale dates back to 1870 when a parcel of mostly dry reds was sold. By combining the traditional craft of winemaking with the latest technology, Mission Estate are reaching out to a new generation of wine lovers across the globe. The Mission VS Merlot 2015 won ‘Champion Merlot’ at the 2017 Royal Easter Show. Angels will be on-site at Taste offering individual tastings of selected wines only available from United Cellars. They will also be presenting regular, vertical vintage flights of local and international fine wines, including a spectacularly priced end-of-line offering from one of Waiheke Island’s best winemakers, every 15 minutes.
The New Zealand Wine Society has been selling wine direct to Kiwis for more than 25 years. Each of the 600 wines they sell is tasted and approved by a Tasting Panel which includes Cellar Director Vic Williams and award-winning winemakers Jo Gear, Nick Badrice and Jeremy McKenzie. Taste of Auckland will be the first opportunity many visitors have to meet the New Zealand Wine Society team including Jo and Vic and taste some of their huge range.

Yealands Family Wines has quickly become a global leader in sustainable wine production. Since launching in 2008, they have won 25 trophies, most recently their Babydoll Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017 was awarded “Best in Show: Best Sauvignon Blanc” at the Decanter Asia Wine Awards 2017. They will have many of their award-winning wines on offer at their wine bar, where you will also be able to enjoy a glass in their seated area.
