The 10th Taste of Auckland Festival is set to be the most high-profile yet, taking place on 1 – 4 November at the new city-centre venue of Queens Wharf.
Lemongrass Productions have been working closely with Auckland Live to secure the new venue and the event will occupy The Cloud, Shed 10 and all available outdoor spaces of Queens Wharf.
The Managing Director of Lemongrass Productions, Rob Eliott, comments: “For almost a decade the Taste of Auckland Festival has served up a cross section of the best food and drink available in this city to an enthusiastic and faithful audience. We have hosted a long list of local and international chefs, producers, winemakers and brewers. We are excited that in conjunction with Auckland Live and our principal sponsor Electrolux, Taste of Auckland will now evolve to become a major harbourside food festival that Auckland deserves.
In creating this new incarnation of the festival we intend to take all the best features from the back catalogue but expect that the new festival will have a whole new look and feel as we embrace our new waterfront location. We will ensure that the offering pays homage to the ocean so expect a greater component of seafood and opportunities to take in the breath-taking sea views. We also believe that the wharf offers a unique opportunity for live music performances against the backdrop of the Waitemata Harbour and look forward to hosting some iconic live acts in the evenings under the setting sun.”
With the new festival’s close proximity to Britomart transport station, the downtown ferry terminal, central city parking facilities and the main business district, it really does make the new Taste of Auckland Festival an event for the people. With this in mind the ticketing structure will be designed so that it can be enjoyed by more people than ever before – tickets will be packed with inclusions offering a great value-for-money day out.
Updates will be available from the organisers via mailing list which can be joined at the Taste of Auckland website.
